Next Season - Important Message from the League
There will be some changes to mini football next season as shown below:
Under Seven- 4 a side
Under Eight - 5 a side
Under Nine - 6 a side
Under Ten and Eleven will remain as 8 a side.
These changes are an FAW directive.
Also, due to political situations which have arisen, it is possible that teams using parks pitches will no longer be recognised as having a "home" venue. This will not apply where clubs have organised the use of "private" venues, schools etc, as the organising club are responsible for the venue. All teams will therefore be expected to travel and must ensure that transport is available. This criteria formed part of clubs interviews.
Where possible, venues will not be used as a "double" facility, ie staggered kick off times. The double venues situation will only be used if we are short of venues. This will then mean that the majority of games will start at 10.30 AM, this being the time that clubs were advised of when mini football was first introduced, or if clubs joined after the inception of mini football, the time that they were advised at their interview. Clubs must therefore ensure that their team managers are available for 10.30 start, although occasionally 9.30 and 11.00 will be used as previously stated where logistics deem otherwise.
One exception to the 10.30 will be at Glyncoed School where the 10.00am start will continue as this is an arrangement which was made with the school when the use of the venue was agreed.
